When you͛re hiring a car, it͛s important to consider carefully what size you need.
IIn the past, the choice was easy, you either went for a small, medium or large sized car but with the arrival of super minis and trendy looking 4x4s, the boundaries between these and family saloons have become blurred and it͛s hard to tell just by looking at them.
The easiest way to find out is to look at the price of hiring a car. If you need a car for a one-off business trip with just a few pieces of luggage to carry, then a smaller class of car will be ideal.
Small cars are no longer as ͚small͛ as they used to be and most engines are refined enough to be comfortable on long motorway journeys.
If on the other hand you are travelling with a large family, then an MPV may be the better option to a large 4×4, which while roomy is unlikely to be built to carry more than five people in comfort.
If you want to make a big impression and don͛t mind the extra cost, then an executive saloon or a higher class 4×4 should have everything you need along with surprisingly good fuel economy on newer cars.
